Hi, my name is Emma and thank you for visiting my blog!
So, I am sure many of you are wondering what this is and why I have chosen to do this…
Well, I decided to start this blog, not only for a uni class, but to share and inspire others to learn how to cook traditional Italian food. Now you may be thinking, how does this 18 year old girl know how to cook ‘traditional’ Italian food?
Well… let me explain.
Both of my parents and close family was born in Italy! My mother and her side of the family are from the Veneto region, specifically Treviso. As well as this, my father and his side of the family are from the Calabrian region, specifically Caulonia. Because of this, I am lucky enough to have the best of both worlds. I get to experience food from the North and the South! Over many years, I have been a witness to the pure joy well cooked Italian food brings to people. Wheather its Panettone over Christmas, a plate of Arancini you really just want to keep all to yourself, or a big bowl of pasta over Sunday lunch, I have never not seen Italian food put a smile on people’s faces.
Being lucky enough to grow up with all four of my Nonni, I have been able to watch and learn how the prepare and cook food. Because of them, specifically my nonne, who are both coincidentally called Maria, I have learned to love cooking traditional and simple Italian food.
